Open day at Farm Buitenverwachting

What does a healthier landscape look like in practice? At the Soil Market at Farm Buitenverwachting, on June 24 you will be presented with vivid examples of how our landscape can become healthier. Ideas for landscape restoration will be exchanged, you can listen to great landscape stories, buy delicious local cheese and dairy, but most of all, taste what a healthy landscape is.

Ground Vebond Working Group

Every year the Land Alliance Working Group takes place, in it 10 citizens have been intensively involved in organic farm Buitenverwachting in Hoogmade, the farm of Bas van Rijn and Marrit Schakel near Leiden. Together they delved into Marrit and Bas' question: "How can we strengthen social regeneration on our farm?" Working group participants developed social-ecological ideas that fit farm Buitenverwachting. These projects will be presented during the Ground Market.

Ground Market

At the Soil Market, all visitors are welcome to join in talking, learning, tasting, feeling, listening for a healthy(er) landscape. You get to vote on which idea, worked out by The Ground Association Working Group will actually be implemented. Does Hoogmade want more hedges and hedgerows, a cow pharmacy or a more bird-friendly landscape through puddle-grass management? So you as a visitor get a voice in the landscape. There is also a market where you can taste a healthy landscape and meet interesting organizations such as Slow Food Youth Network.
