customized courses
We are making the transition to a fair, diverse and sustainable food system together.
A customized Food Hub training is a learning process that you go through with your colleagues and/or people from your organization. We emphasize the importance of diversity in perspectives and strive for a holistic approach. In this, every detail is part of the message. Together you will gain a new perspective on the role and responsibility of your company, and you will strengthen your ability to engage in the food transition, a societal shift towards a 'good, clean and fair' food system.
Our approach
Our approach is rooted in transition theory and inspired by Theory U, a methodology that helps us tap the deeper sources of knowledge and inspiration. Our unique "Food Hub formula" includes several elements:
Enable - we focus on content. From understanding the food transition to developing personal leadership. In collaboration with experts, through frameworks, assignments, practical tools and critical reflection - the content is customized to your needs.
Experience - with your feet in the clay! Explore the food system in field trips carefully curated by us. From regenerative farm to food processor, from pig farmer to tomato grower, Food Hub takes you through the food chain from start to finish.
Empower - learn new skills that will help you accelerate sustainable transitions in your (work) environment.
Our trainers
We create our training and education courses together with our experienced experts and trainers. Are you looking for inspiration from academia or do you prefer to work with practice-oriented experts? We work with trainers of all shapes and sizes. Below you can see a selection of our experts. Check out all the inspiring people we work with here.
Maarten Essenburg
As a creative strategist and design thinking expert, Maarten designs and facilitates co-creative workshops for Food Hub. Co-creative because we always work together and strategic because we don't like ideas until we have validated them. Hence; the prototyping mindset.
Beatrice Voorneman
As a designer for Reframing Studio, Beatrijs is fascinated by the philosophical side of design. For Food Hub, Beatrijs trains participants how to position their product, service or place in a future context.
Linda Vermaat
Linda is an experienced moderator, speaker and director of Innofest. During her pitch trainings, she teaches participants how to make sure the audience hangs on your every word.
Thomas van Neerbos
Doing what you do with conviction, getting what you want and telling it where it needs to go. In doing so, Thomas helps people. Students, activists, politicians, scientists and for Food Hub the people who are going to make sure we eat better, on all fronts.
Joris Lohman
In his workshops, political scientist Joris dives into the theory behind the food transition with farmers, businesses and governments.
Joszi Smeets
Joszi is an experienced trainer in the field of personal leadership. In these changing times, she helped more than 700 individuals develop their leadership potential, increase self-awareness and become natural leaders.
Everything under your own control
In our customized trainings, you decide the content, duration and location. A workshop of a few hours, a multi-day session or a full program spread over several months? Getting started at your office, or rather be inspired at an unexpected location? The choice is yours!
Future Foods Academy
Since 2022, Food Hub has partnered with Unilever to host an academy for (young) professionals within the company. The academy gives professionals the tools to make a positive impact on the food system, within Unilever's Future Foods initiative.
Participants take a journey through the food chain, broadening their horizons thanks to encounters with inspiring "peers" from the food system. In other words, participants exchange their desks for a stimulating program on location, from farm to plant-based start-up. This creates an active understanding of the food transition, and how different parties are shaping it. Participants apply new knowledge to various current cases at Unilever, and pay attention within the academy to their personal ambition regarding the food transition.
